*SPECIAL WORKSHOP* The Perfect Mug (3-WEEK WORKSHOP)

Are mugs the bane of your existence? Well we've got the perfect class for you!

In this 3-week class you will be taken on a wheel-thrown mug journey! This class concentrates on creating intentional well crafted mugs that have personality. 

First, we'll start in the design process to visualize and plan your mug forms. Once the planning is finished, we will throw three different mugs with their own concentration on form and functionality. 

In the second workshop, we will learn to trim the mug bodies and learn how to pull handles that accentuate the mugs form. This is a pain point for some, but we have some tips and tricks necessary to become a handle pro!

The third workshop is all about surface design; whether you want to try some glaze combos or you'd like to try your hand at underglazes, there are many different techniques that will suit your needs.

What’s involved: Students will learn to wheel throw three different mug shapes and how to pull and attach handles. Students will also learn how to glaze their pieces to add to the beauty of their mugs.

What’s included: All materials for this class are included. Once the class is over, your work will be fired in our kiln. Please allow up to three weeks for your piece to be ready for pick up. Once the pieces are done they will be placed on our pick up shelf. Please bring an appropriate container/bag to transport your piece. Pieces will only be held for up to 30 days starting from the class date. 

Time and Date: This is a 3-week workshop and will take place on Saturday, May 11th, 18th, and 25th from 4:30pm - 7:00 pm.

Clay Experience Required:

Students should be capable of centering confidently and throwing cylinders with a minimum height of 4 inches unassisted. These are the skills required for success in this workshop. Students attending this class without these skills will not only have a difficult time but will also take valuable time away from other students. 

Ensure you can commit to all class dates:

We plan our class dates far in advance to provide adequate notice for you to plan your schedule around our workshops. We ask that future students registering for this class commit to all class dates. We understand that life happens, and we do allow for one free make-up session. Make-up sessions are intended for students to catch up on missed class time and are not supervised by the teacher. One Day Workshops do not qualify for make-up sessions.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted up to 7 days before the first workshop date, and all cancellations are subject to a 15% administration fee. Cancellations made 6 days or less before the workshop will not be refunded. Once a workshop has begun, refunds will not be processed. We are a small business and must fill all spots in each class to pay our teachers and supply all materials and equipment.
